I’m a writer- I actually used to write for real newspapers on paper and everything. I mostly just write for anyone who will listen now.
I live in Denver and work administrative jobs, but I’m trying to make the most of it. I’ve got a great big nerdy husband-to-be, a strange little black cat, way too many shoes and a penchant for small engine repair.
There are some who call me casserole.
Hi Cassandra, you faved one of my tweets today (@oscarpop17 – “Bananamerica”
, and I was soooo thrilled with my first “fav” ever, that I came to see more here. REally fun read, and I especially liked the part about not believing in God. I come from a small town in Ohio, way too close to the belt of the Bible, and although I call my religious upbringing, “religion light” (Protestant), and there was no real “fire on brimstone”, it had it’s own ways of oppressing the mind and convince our young minds that special faries, ghosts, and an oft referred to “holy ghost” existed, not sure but it had something to do with a “trinity” of Father, Son and Holy, ummm, ghost…
The bible and it’s stories always sounded like a man-made fable written to control the masses. I was way more influenced by “Peter and the Wolf”. I think it is why I am not a big fan of ceremony, repeated, monotone phrases that seem like they should be important but make no sense and seem to live in the phyche of the 14th Century… I agree, as I get older, I continue to wonder why people care so much that I buy into their fantasy.
If you haven’t heard my band, the gones, please give us a listen here: http://www.reverbnation.com/thegones
I see you are in Denver, so if you like what you hear, plan on coming to a great show at Bushwackers Saloon (dwn on Broadway) on Friday, the 26th of Aug. with one of our favorites, Tequila Mockingbird, we’re calling it the “Power Pop Workshop”. It’s going to be a fun show, and I’ve never met a local tweeter before, so do introduce if you come out!
Many thanks for my first “fav”!
